Challenge
In early 2020, she established BlueSky Organizations, LLC to take advantage of other business prospects. About the time the pandemic hit, Jessica also saw an opportunity to purchase a commercial building but was cautious as she faced the possibility of declining future revenues during COVID.
Gameplan
She worked with SBDC advisor Lani Lott and other specialists to bolster her marketing efforts and take advantage of the opportunity to purchase the building, partially utilizing SBA guaranteed loans.
Result
During 2020, with the help and advice of the SBDC, Jessica was able to get her businesses through the initial stages of the pandemic and, at the same time, procure financing and close escrow on a four-plex commercial building in Redding, CA.
