EV Battery Innovator Accelerates Growth with $27M in Funding

$27M Secured

Raised $2M in equity investment and $25M in non-dilutive grants | Technology validated by major automaker | 30x faster battery diagnostics

CHALLENGES

ReJoule faced the daunting task of disrupting an inefficient $5,000-per-battery testing process that plagued automakers managing aging EV batteries. As a startup with revolutionary technology achieving 98% accuracy at 30x the speed of traditional methods, they needed strategic guidance to navigate complex funding opportunities and connect with automotive industry decision-makers.

SBDC SOLUTION

SBDC’s Tech Futures Group advisors Kaustav Chaudhuri and Axel Tillmann provided critical business strategy and presentation coaching while leveraging their deep expertise in DoD and military funding channels. Through Pitch Global’s extensive network, they facilitated introductions to key investors and helped ReJoule refine their value proposition for both grant applications and venture capital pitches.

RESULTS FOR CLIENT

ReJoule secured $27M in total funding, including $25M in non-dilutive grants from the National Science Foundation, California Energy Commission, and Department of Energy, plus $2M from strategic investors including LG Technology Ventures, CAR Group, and Black & Veatch. Their rapid diagnostics platform now reduces battery testing costs by 90% (from hundreds of dollars to under $20) and is being evaluated for deployment across 2,000+ service centers for a major automaker. “The advice we received from Pitch Global has been extremely valuable, and the exposure to their network is unmatched,” says CFO Zora Chung.
